is the PS3 worth it?

at launch of the PS3, someone got shot, a lot of people got robbed, is the PS3 really worth it? And half the people who got it is selling it on ebay. Is sony off to a bad start of next-gen? Will it improve?

Sony is off to a real bad start this gen, their price is way too high and the consoles are still in a short supply. The people who were shot or robbed suffered because of these reasons mostly.

As for it improving, yes... It’ll improve over time, production costs will be cut, prices will drop, and the time it takes to create the console will decrease. It’s going to be hard for Sony over the next few years, but in the end they’ll either wind up on top again or will be fighting out over second place, I seriously doubt they’ll end up last this gen.

I have a 360, and i have played the other two consoles, and i think the wii isnt much of an improvment over the gamecube hardware wise. The controller is the only new thing. Also, the PS3 has longer loading times than the PS3, because the PS3 is built around a much more complicated motherboard. therefore game developers will have to work harder and more than likley have bad performance, while the 360 has excellent performance. This is all in my opinion.

The 360 is a solid console, however it could have been much more than what it is. Microsoft knew that they got their butts kicked by Sony last gen, so they rushed to get their next gen console out before Sony put the PS3 out. I think that if Microsoft worked on the console for another year, that they would have a much more solid console this time.

In my opinion, I see the 360 coming in last place this gen, the PS3, although expensive, is a very good console, and it will only get better. This almost guarantees Sony either first or second place. If the Wii keeps it’s third party support, it’s will be the hands down winner this gen. The problem is the fact that publishers might begin to feel that the motion sensing is too gimmicky and ditch Nintendo like they did with the gamecube.

That is a high possibility due to the facts that the Wii is inferior to both the 360 and PS3 graphically and that it lacks several things that most gamers now a days consider to be standard, such as a hard drive and DVD playback.

No matter what happens though, this generation of gaming will probably prove to be the best we’ve ever had.

sonys sold over 800,000 consoles, they sold about 400,000 in just a few days

I think the ps3 will energe the victor, but only when the prices start to drop and the developers get the grips with the console hardware. this will take time, however the battle for this gen will no doubt be fought over many years.

The ps3 has the graphical grunt to win in that department and as for the wii’s motion scensing controller, dont be surprised if sony make something simmilar. Just look at the add ons that came out for the ps2 after a few years.

I get the feeling that many third party develpers wont spend the time making truly great wii motion games as it would take too much time, leaving the ownus on the second and primary developers to do the business.

As with poke’mon, one inovative game can shift thousands of units, and lets face it...Nintendo is all about innovation.

Xbox 360 will die in the ass i think, simply because once the ps3 drops down in price, Xbox 360 will be a inferior console. I can see many people selling their xboxes to upgrade to a ps3, especialy as there are not all that many Xbox exclusive games out at the moment.

Plus xbox exclusive doesn’t mean that much. look at splinter cell. that was labeled on the pakaging...ONLY FOR XBOX....YEAH RIGHT, that game has now been on almost every consoe currently out in some incarnation.

From last generation so far it seems like a big turn around, Nintendo has made a great comeback and this was probliy their most successful launch since the N64 launch. Sony has been well kind of, mediocre in the sense of the choices they have made, Microsoft seems to be doing the same thing they have done in the last gen, just stick with normal controls and standard gameplay. Nintendo made a huge leap in gaming with the wii and it in turn did make a huge difference many people bought it and it is still selling like wild fire, Sony has done well with the PS2 but it almost seems like they wanted to serew themselves over with the PS3 so far nothing good has come out for it expect resistance and it was not so special. Another facter that hinders the PS3 is the 360, they are almost the exact same thing in terms of graphics and most features, only thing the PS3 has is more memory and blue-ray and that is not really a big difference. Nintendo and Microsoft have good things going for them in the meantime while Sony just needs to pull its act together.

Hmm they will improve as there are many good exclusives coming around march but for now it is wii all the way baby WOOT!

sony are replacing holding a remote with ur intire body with eye toy 2, and its the first single camera to since in 3d and becuase it senses in 3d it works as well if not better than the wiimote and that also means no broken tvs, and even if only a few games are made for it, theres only 1 good game for the remote anyways, the rest with the remote blow like red steel.
