I’ve finally configured my wireless router for my Wii, after changing the channel. My computer (I have two, one being the computer that has the wired connection, and my personal one in my room with a wireless connection) now cannot connect to the wireless network.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, would that mean I have to disconnect one to access online for the other?

I had a hell of a lot of difficulty setting up my connection for the Wii, however I don’t have any problems accessing the network now. I’ve been on with my computer, my Wii, and my friends laptop at the same time, so I’m guessing it’s something with either your router or your connection.

Go to Nintendo’s tech support. The original problem for me was that my Wii and my computer were using the same wireless signal, which created too much interference for the other to work.

It doesn’t work with the DS because the DS is getting too much interference from the Wii.

I’m thinking of purchasing a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB adapter so I don’t have to switch wireless channels for me to go back and forth between my Wii and computer.

I thought it was easy. I just said “use that one” and it did.

It has nothing to do with my wii, i have had both online it is just that when one of the features of my router is turned off I can use my DS online but then my internet is slower, my PC internet gets 2X slower then normal.

One cannot work with the other from what I can see, so you can only work one at a time. If you want to change wireless channels, Nintendo tech support has a bunch of routers' IP addresses, just find the model.

Router’s have 11 channels, and by default are on channel 6. Changing the channel may change inteferance levels for your Wii, but will mess up anything else that’s using that channel. My computer, for example, couldn’t connect to the network again on any other channel although it could find the signal, I had to change it back to 6.
