zendel Guest | The link was broken but from here you can download the filter:
http://www.moviecodec.com/download/ac3filter_0_70b.exe
And if you listen the movies just a few loud go to start/run and type this:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ac3filter.cpl
and put presets to LOUD.
All this I learnt it here.
Thx very much to all people to help here. You’re all actually lovely .

LegitXeris Guest | Hey guys, thx for the link, but my sound is not working correctly. I hear fuzzy sound, like a radio static throughout entire movie. I cannot hear a single word nor explosion.
Please tell me what to do, I see that other people had this same problem before but there isn’t any answer replied under these threads.

Blasto Guest | On a Win98 machine, I tried and tried and tried to get that damn ac3filter_0_70b.exe install file to work, but it never properly loaded the .ax file. I kept seeing “Could not load: c:\Program Files\ac3filter.ax:" in the install window. However... the install file located below worked fantastic!!
http://www.dawnload.net/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ac3filter.cfm
By the way, you really do need to crank the gain up in the config app to achieve normal sound levels.

vocalmind Guest | Gspot check its AC3. Yet when i play i only got 2 channel out.
I thought AC3 is dolby 5.1 channel??
Im confuse, a lot of people complain about tag 8192 with no sound, well i got sound but i expect 5.1 channel.
Maybe I don’t know what is AC3 and Dolby 5.1.

anuj Guest | NO / LOW VOLUME IN DIVX/XVID FILE ??????
I had the same problem. here is what i did. get a hold of the AC3 filter somehow. there are links to it on other posts in this message board.
install it.
that should take care of the no volume part. the volume should work now. but it will probably be quite low. even on full volume, i had trouble hearing the dialogues.
TO INCREASE AC3 VOLUME.... DO THIS...
1) Go to Control Panel => AC3 filter
2) Open AC3 filter, at bottom uncheck “Normalize” box and raise the volume slider to max. uncheck 3 “BSI lock” boxes and raise sliders to max.
3) Select “Mixer” tab at top, uncheck ALL boxes.
4) Select “Equalizer” tab at top. check mark “Equalizer on” box and slide all volume slides to the max.
5) Select “System” tab at top
uncheck “auto load movie configuration files”
uncheck “Use WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE”
check mark “Wave out” button (it’s below “Direct Sound”
6) Click “OK” at bottom to save these new settings
I HOPE DOING ALL THIS WORKS FOR YOU. IT WORKED FOR ME.... :-)
