gettin avi to play

i recently d/led swat but i cant seem to get it to play ... i have and lot of codecs and 4cc changers etc. as well as gspot and avimedic but nothing will play it and avi medic says it is fake ,,,, does this mean it trully is a dud file or is it just that im using the wrong player/codec??
please help
