man... a marine with a gun shootin up maniac extremists .. askin abt how I AM .. geez thanks for the honor LOL
well btw, i was watching this thing on the History channel the other day ..
Aboout the units that took part in the invasion of Baghdad and the ambush that took place en route.. its scary as hell , having bullets flying around everywhere et al and still finding the balls to aim and press the trigger at the enemy... no wonder they call it “the beast of war” , dont intend to ruffle up bad memories , but fighting a war is too painful an experience ..maybe that explains why you sound so 'affected' by it all .. and so do quite a lot of other ppl , other 'humans' who had to press the trigger...
pardon the long post, its kinda 2.30 am and i aint spoken much to any1 all day .. hah
Well I hate it, my last for were out in a desert. Just snow alone its........ cold, wet, and just annoying. Sure, have fun with the snowballs and the snow days. Just don’t throw any snow at my car, because do not want to know how it feels to have a 90 MPH snow ball flying strait to your face.
It was hell, but I wasn’t afraid of it. To me it was life, maybe not a good one, but it was for me. The thing though is that the enemy that we fought could of been any one, including the man that sat next to you. Now I know it wasn’t as bad as Vietnam, but it was still a war zone. In Nam, men would go crazy, and sometimes you would have to kill you own squadmate if he went mad or crazy.
Over in the middle east, it was frustating, because we didn’t know who our enemies were. It was so horrible, that the boy that gave you a hug and cheered for you one day, might end up being you enemy the next. It was bad and harsh. I can’t believe I survived it.
Pain, so what if people might blame you for the way you look, but those are the people who can only point fingers, if you asked them to fight for our country, they would sit and shut up. You are a good person, and thats all that matters. If you breath air, walk on two legs, and can love, then is nothing wrong with you. You are still human, no matter what ethnic backround you might have.
I GET “DiStUrBeD” when i play the life-like First-person-shooter games , when i get sniped in a game my heart ACTUALLY misses a beat so iv stopped playing those games... they’re good , but they harm me too much i guess, call me a wimp hah
and here you are and ppl like you , who just go out there and are willing to lay their lives down for ppl , for a cause ... it is just commendable beyond words.
the games .. you can hit “Quit” and “Restart”... but in reality its a whole different thing all together...
Just saw a couple of hours ago, Mr. Gates taking over from Rumsfeld ... they gonna increase the troops in Iraq it seems... well .. i guess bad news again for the free world but i think it might be required...
What do you ,personally, think is the POLITICAL solution for Iraq ?
the pride , then , is mutual m8 , its almost flattering .. but so true , its simple things that keep us human we fail to appreciate, maybe we’ve become too desensitized.
What do you think would have happened if we did nothing? If we as a nation said, " Big deal, we’ll get over it." and wiped off our shoulders and did nothing. Would Osama strike again? Would a mass murderer still control his people with fear?
So have you have to ask yourself, could of we have pressed “restart” or could we have done something that would of stopped a rain of globle terror. The truth is, I don’t what we should do. I’m not polotic, I’m a soldier, just a puppet of my country.
If I could of stopped it, 9/11, there still would of been a war only for a differen’t reason. I still would of ran off and fought, to die. I didn’t care what else was going on in the world. All I had was a gun, a uniform, and my name. Thats it.
So, in a way no one’s right, were all guilty. Guilty of fighting for the wrong reasons. The soldiers that are going over, they will fight and they will die. But they will not die for a country, but for their pride, their beliefs, and their love. The soldiers aren’t guilty, the poloticains are. They are guilty for making this war happen, to them its just buisness, to the soldiers its pride.
