Since the 360 has had the lead in the console war I decided to determine how much each console has sold each day on average.

Xbox 360:

Out for- 387 days
Sold- 8,490,866 systems (nexgenwars.com)
Rate- ~21,940 consoles per day

Wii:

Out for- 25 days
Sold- 1,725,241 systems (nexgenwars.com)
Rate- ~69,009 consoles per day

PS3:

Out for- 27 days
Sold- 447,002 (nexgenwars.com)
Rate- ~16,556 consoles per day

So far Wii is selling fastest, now selling at a rate more than 3 times that of the 360, both completely burying the PS3.

Not that it’s going to stay this way for the consoles, I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

That is actually very interesting, to be honest, when I saw the topic’s name, I thought that the PS3 would have a better rate of sale then the 360. But I guess with the shortages it wasn’t so. The Wii’s numbers are outstanding though.

Um... obviously you guys don’t understand....

The Wii has been out for a few weeks, because of this, it’s sales have been going well... just like most other consoles.

The Wii so far hasn’t had a bad sales day, but hey it’s only been out for a while right?

Well thats the thing, the 360 has been out longer, because of this, the 360 has been slowing down slowly, which drags down it’s average.

Those results are invalid.

If I had figures for the 360 on its release we could really tell which is selling fastest, in which case I think the Wii would still dominate.

It still wouldn’t be that valid, Microsoft was like Sony is now, they couldn’t produce enough consoles to meet the quota they set.

Yes, MS released their console early to get a head start, but as a result there were not that many, but it still did better then the ps3.

I really don’t care, i’m sure the Wii sold more in the beggining because it’s cheaper and there were more to go around.

Acualy that chart is invalid since you also have to measure how much the Ship and acualy last week the Wii sold about 40,000 and the 360 sold around 51,000 so you cant make a chart without noteing all the details

shipments don’t make any money. I got all the sales info from nexgenwars.com which documents how much each system sells.

no shipment determin how many item there acualy are to sell so you have to look at the amount they have in and the amount they sell so you have to look the the percent of the items they sell not the amount they sell daily

Look, I never said this was a valid chart. I just took how many consoles everything has sold and divided it by how many days it’s been out. That’s really as valid as any average can get.

The results are really invalid cause next gen wars numbers, mainly for the 360, are way off.

Probably recorded shipments. Needs to be fixed.

However, the Wii and PS3 relatively accurate.
