dvd burning

I am using dvd shrink with an msi DR8-A2 burner,all the copies i have done lately are freezing and glitching.I am using nero 5 software.My computer has p4 1.7 processor and 128rd ram,could it be that i need to up grade or could my burner be the problem.
can any one please help me?
