I am having so many troubles with this, all I want to do is record home movies and get them off my harddrive jvc camcorder so I can continue using it. I have tried several different software programs and they all keep telling me no dvd recorders detected, or no drive. This is the 2nd computer that this has happened on, what is the deal??? appreciate it, Thanks

Will be a better deal if you say the model of your toy. JVC have on their site drivers for USB connection and also some FAQ to help you. Here is a link for you: https://www.jvc.ca/en/consumer/service/faq.asp#digcam
