Mr. Dj Guest | I’ve downloaded Native Instruments Absyth with the bittorrent. I found the same stuff, lots of .rar files, which i extractem, i got the .bin and the .cue files. Then i figured out, No nero installed! and im lazy to download it and bla bla...so my question is: since this isnt a movie, is a software, does the steps to open it are the same? what should I do Jedi Masters?

Laird Guest | I’ve downloaded 1.5G in three folders of files.
The first contained files numbered tda-3d7a.001 to tda-3d7a.045.
I checked the sfv file. No problem.
I assembled the files with Join 32.
I added and extension to the result: tda-3d7a.rar.
I found within a cue file and a bin file, again with the same name.
But now I cannot extract the bin file... Powerdesk won’t show the bin file, and Win rar informs me that I need tda-3d7a.r00, which is not to be found.
Am I an idiot? What is it that I do not know?

Anna Guest | I have a movie named something like this : 'name.DVDRip.XviD-Pep'. When I tried to open it with BS Player, a message told me : 'Can’t open file'. I tried to open it with other players but it won’t work.

Anna Guest | I am reading all that people said and I realised that I don’t have the same problem with them: I have a movie, the same movie I was talking before, but it is not zipped, and it is made by one single file, called charlie.and.the.chocolate.factory.dvdrip.xvid-pep . I told ya I can’t open it. Now, what can I do???

Anna Guest | To Cjcpr:
If the file is a dvdrip as you say, you should have no problem burning it with nero. If the name contains 'DvD' in it, don’t worry, it is probably the name of the fle before beeing ripped. But if the file is a Dvd, then you’ll need a dvd writter and some dvd discs.
Hope I was usefull for ya!

labish Guest | Files with numbers from 01 to 0xx are rar’s files. In order to get your avi file or other type of file, you have to open the folder with WinRar and select all rar’s and extract to whatever directory you like folder or desktop. Some guys like to open WinRar and drag the folder with all rar’s in it.After extraction if is a vcd or svcd movie you are going to get a pair of cue/bin file ready to put on cd and to watch it on your DVD standalone player. If the file is a Xvid you may watch it on your pc and if everything goes round sound and picture you may convert it to svcd or dvd.If your file won’t work on pc find out with GSpot the type of file you have and the codecs you need.Mostly is good to have install on your computer DivX and some Xvid players like VLC and BSplayer. All in one codec pack has some of the generic codecs to play a Xvid file so here is a link:http://www.free-codecs.com/ Good Luck

Anna Guest | Where do you guys download the movies after all???
| |
| 29 Jul 2005 02:20 am |
Laird Guest | I use about five .torrent sites. Soem are movie specific, others are more general. If you go to mozilla.org you can find a list of filesharing sites in their plug-in section.
And I figured out how to open my download mentioned previously.
Turned out all I needed to do was add an .iso extension to my unrarred file. Thanks much, guys.
The info here is very helpful.

Anna Guest | Mozilla.com ??? You can download movies from there??? I don’t think so ...

violomana Guest | I tried Winrar but none of the.0XX files showed up. Thanks for the advice anyway, Labish! ^^;

labish Guest | If WinRar can not find the files might be a different format. If is AVI try to open one file with GSpot or AviCOdec and start from there. Here is a link:http://lists.gpick.com/pages/CoDecs.htm

may be stupid Guest | This may be a really stupid question, but I downloaded Kingdom of hearts, but when it finished downloading it was still a .torrent file, I tried changing the name to .avi and .mpg but nothing seemed to work, if you’ve seen this before or know my answer, a reply would be awsome.
Thanks Again

Laird Guest | Mozilla has a serch bar function that sits at the top of the screen next to the address bar. They offer down loadable scripts that add .torrent tracker and crack sites to your choice of search engines. Here is the page:
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html?submitform=Find&category=13
The first link will install the plugin to Firefox, the second will take you to the home page of the tracker site.
I hop this is helpful, Doubting Mary.

Laird Guest | To May Be S...
Did you down load the file from a website, or through a .torrent client?
If its the latter, perhaps some one accidentally has a torrent leading to a .torrent file.
Or you don’t know what a .torrent file is.
You are aware that the .torrent is the not the file you want, but rather a way to get it?
How large is the file? If it is not large enough to be a movie or a game, then is just a .torrent, and you need to try again.
I use Azureus to run my .torrent files, fast and relatively clean. And free. (azureus.org, I think.) My comps slow so it takes my a day to torrent one CD, but it is wort the wait. I just got all 26 eps of “His and Her Circumstances”.

Figued it out Guest | I use Azureus as well, and I do know what a .torrent file is, but the file was 750 mb. It turns out the file I downloaded was named .torrent and it was actually a .rar, Winrar just wasn’t installed on the specific computer that I downloaded. Thanks for trying to help.
Peace out everyone
