Hi,

I have created movie file using Windows Movie Maker. The file lis created with extension .wmv

Now this file does not recognise by my VCD player although it works on computer.

Now how do I convert this .wmv file to .dat format?
Can anybody sugeest please?

just .dat extension doen tmeanthat its a movie file..any body can put a dat extension to any file..u have to inspect it..the .dat movie file wil contain mpeg header if ts a movie file..try using osme converter ..they wil try to recognise the format..if they dont its not a movie format or header is corrupted..cant do anything..

To copy/burn .dat files directly onto the CD can be used by Window Media Player, PowerDVD and the like on computers. But not for VCD/DVD player. I want to convert the selected .dat files from several VCDs and compile into one that I can use for my karaoke session. Previously I need to convert these .dat file to mpg file and use Nero or the like to burn onto CD. That works! Lately I overhead that using certain software can ease the job by copying/burn the .dat files directly to CD (without converting to .mpg files first) and can be used in VCD player. Have somebody tried and if so, please advise. Thanks................

Any body can help me? question is I just converted my vcd dat. file to my psp using the trial version of psp media express. It work but the problem is the sound effects/ sound does not coordinate w/ the movement of the actors like its suppose to be? any suggestions?

does anybody know the way to convert '.avi' file into '.dat' before burning it?

what is the heirarchy of video files in terms of their size... i mean which format file will be bigger in size...avi, dat, mpeg1, mpeg2, wmv, realvideo?

i have been trying to write a compressed video file in .avi format. size of the file is 700MB in .avi. But when i add this file to NERO compilation,it becomes 1050MB.
