I found that I can load the .img file using the Daemon tools. It isn’t listed in the available file types, but select all files and it loads it normally onto your Virtual drive. Then you can play it with your favourite player

Dreamgirls Guest | Hey everyone, I’ve tried a bunch of things on here and only a few things have been helpful. I have a 4.4 GB .img file and it plays fine in VLC Player, thanks for the tips everyone...but what I wanna do is conver it to a .mpg or .wmv or .avi or even .rm. Does anyone know what I can do BESIDES converting to a .iso which won’t do anything for me?

You can use Daemon Tool to open as this posting tells you, if you can not play it, it is your player not Daemon! I use cyberlink powere dvd hd, you can find it on mininova or piratebay, iptorrets so on. This person is right us Daemon to open all img files! Peace!!!!!!!!

drunkenthird Guest | I found the easiest thing is to download the VLC media player and just open the .img file with it and voila. You dont have to do anything complicated. The VLC player is a small file and is easy to use. It is a good all around player to have anyway.

K-Dash Guest | Would Nero 6 work for an img file? and what about ccd and sub files?
| 16 May 2007 02:35 am |
dohii Guest | if u have NERO go to burning ROM, cancel the wizard, then hit recorder>burn image and it should burn to DVD.
If not, u need to unzip the .iso from within the .img first.

newb101 Guest | okay im a newb at this stuff so i have no idea what i am doing really. I downloaded a game from bittorrent and have been trying to play it but i can’t seem to open the files. The files are img, ccd, and sub files. I’ve tried using isobuster and then extracting them but that doesnt seem to be working for me so im beginning to run out of ideas. When i do extract them i am unable to run any of the applications, no error messages or anything they simply dont respond at all. Can anyone tell my how i can do all this so i can play my game plz????

to change img files so that they work just change your extention from .img to .iso .
and if you find that you cannot because there is no extention. go to tools and folder options and under view just unclick the box for hide extentions for known file types. then the extentions should show and just change it.
great, the name chage works just fine.
