Sonja Guest | Can isobuster be used to extract .rar files or i can do it only with winrar
| 26 Apr 2005 02:08 am |
minglt Guest | The *.img file can be renamed to *.iso or *.rar
Basically, you can use WINRAR to open it or a virtual drive software such as Daemon to run it once you convert the file extension to *.iso

Korte-Baas Guest | Hey guys, i’ve been trying to figure this out and i have downloaded a game and i want to play it but i can’t even open it with demon tools, dvd decrypter, nero, nothing. it’s an IMG file and it’s got 2 cds. In the cd1 folder there are 3 files: .Img(700 M
.CCD(1 K .SUB(30 M
Folder of CD 2: .BIN(380 M .CUE(1 K
Please help me, i really want to play this.

Just.Jake Guest | the .img file is a Apple computer format used for Mac OS 9. It is an exact image of a cd.
Y’all might have so mush trouble because you’re on PCs.
I really don’t see why it would be on a tracker.
Also, the ISO image format does NOT perfectly preserve disk information. Most modern copy protection does not find the hash it needs on the disk.
But if the actual disk’s hash and the mounted image’s hash are the same, your gold.
Buy Toast Titanium if you want a good emulator. Mounts IMG, DMG, ISO, bin/cue, folders as disks.
Burns DVDs too | |

Drew Guest | I downloaded a img movie and it seems that dvd decryptor is decrypting it to Vob files

stumped Guest | for the naruto file, I’ve tried it with IsoBuster.. I just get a converted .tao and a .cue file.. I don’t know what to do with that. I looked at the tos file like someone suggested.. this is what it says:
Source.......: DVD9 R2 ²
Output.......: NTSC ²
Release date.: 21.09.2004 ±
DVD Date.....: 21.12.2004 ±
Genre........: Animation °
Playtime.....: 92 Minutes ²
I’ve been searching everywhere for an answer and I haven’t been able to come up with any. Some think the file is a Mac file, some think its a CDclone file, some think its porn. I think its legit and the disk image file from a Mac seems most likely. I’m about ready to give up but I hate problems without a solution. The file is still being distributed on bittorrent and it seems like such a waste of so many people’s time. Whoever posted it must be having a big laugh right about now.

stumped Guest | I’ve also tried Iso Commander and UltraIso... just to add to Blueping’s long list.

TheTrueToy Guest | OK, let’s see...
...you have a .IMG file and you want to extract its contents, right?
Well, just download from www.download.com the FREE application ExtractNow v.3.56. Once installed on your PC, use it the same way you would use WinZip (well, more or less) to unzip the .IMG file to the desired folder.
I tried it and it works. You don’t need to convert anything and just let it do the whole job.
Simple and, most of all, FREE!

sph Guest | i’ve started daemon tools, mounted the .img file as a new drive, then nero, copy dvd. it works fine.

TheTrueToy Guest | OK, let’s see... (second edition)
...you have a .IMG file and you want to extract its contents, and you can’t write on a CD-ROM, right?
Well, just download from http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm the FREE application MagicDisk v.2.1. Once installed on your PC, you can SIMULATE up to 4 writeable CD-ROM drives. Very easily, you mount it (=tell the application where the .IMG file is located on your PC) without having to reserve further disk space for the task! It will look like the new CD-ROM drive has a real CD or DVD in it and you may use it as it was a real CD or DVD.
I tried it and it works. You don’t need to convert anything and just let it do the whole job.
Simple and, most of all, FREE! Much better than ExtractNow or any other software mentioned around.
