VIdeo problem

I have a few videos but they only play for about 3.5 minutes and then they stop when the player says that it lasts an hour or so longer.

Is this a codec error or another error?

This problem is indicative of a few things like:
- DivX codec being used to decode is outdated.
- File is corrupted
- Something from a codec pack, like Nimo, perhaps installed incorrectly

First identify what codecs the file was encoded with (use the following for this - http://www.headbands.com/gspot/gspot221.exe)
