help for playing a .avi movie

I have a .avi movie and I cannot open it with anything I have. I downlodaed the codecs mentioned in other topics about that, but it still does not work! HELP PLEASE!!!

Download GSpot and open the file with and start from there. Be sure is an avi file not a compressed one in rar format.

I did that already, but the gspot would tell me that it is not a valid .avi file... And the file is not compressed... Any other suggestions, PLEASE???
