What needs to be fixed are the idiots that can’t hold a freaking controller then go off complaining about it. ---

That’s weird, because you can pay for a PS3 that sells for such an expensive price yet it has more problems than Wii not only in terms of hardware, but also glitches in the software too. --- Join “The Zeitgeist Movement”

Thats good, it’s good to see Nintendo adress the problem so relatively early in the Wii’s life.

I haven’t used the strap at all and I haven’t tossed the controller into a tv, a wall, a dog, or anything else for that matter. ---

Nintendo made a mistake and made the straps to thin, no biggy, it’s not like the Wii burned down the house.
But like i said, the Wii controller is designed to be used in swinging motions if the person who is playing wants to play like that.
So, Nintendo made a small mistake, and now they are fixing it.

The strap is indeed a problem, but people do need to exercise a bit of self control... I mean... who swings it so hard that it craters a wall when it hits? It’s difficult for me to punch hard enough to do that... unless it’s a cheap ass wall. ---

That is true, you have a valid point, not to argue though... the fact remains that the strap is kinda weak and should be at least 2-3 times thicker.
But you are right, some people are swinging them WAY to hard.
But for those who swing on a average scale and the strap breaks, sending the Wiimote across the living room... cracking the 2,000 TV.
Those people are going to be mad, i’m surprised some idiot hasn’t tried to sue Nitnendo yet.

The straps are too weak, and it needs to be fixed... but I think that the person who broke his TV was asking for it, he was playing the game for about 12 hours... wtf? ---

Instead of grabbing a small area on the bottom of the controller you’re grabbing the middle of the controller. ---

When i play my 360 i am holding it nice and firm with TWO hands, the Wiimote is held by ONE hand.
NOTE: I still havn’t played the Wii yet, so i can’t really tell what it is like to hold it

Guardian of MvC Rep: 89 Joined: 06 Jan 2006 Posts: 44,549 OFFLINE | Go grab a small circular bar that’s roughly 2 inches in diameter and grip it in the middle. It’s like holding a stick, due to the fact that you wrap your hand around it completely you get a better grip, if you have small hands I suppose you could grip an xbox or PS controller the same way, but to a normal sized individual it would be impossible.
Well I guess if you keep your hands wrapped around the sides as well as the bottom you could get a grip just as good, I forgot about that. ---

Addict (beyond 1337) Rep: 69 Joined: 22 Aug 2006 Posts: 32,780 OFFLINE | Judging by what you said, i have come to the conclusion that the grip is about the same.
The standard controllers, 360 or ps3, are held by two hand on both sides, giving it good girth the controller is easily held in place.
The Wiimote, however, is held by one hand but more surface area is under the palm, giving the user a good sense of control.
So i think it may be the around the same, i think the Wii has an advantage because you’r hand closes around it, but the standard controller has an advanatge because you have two hands holding onto it very firmly.
But it could ultimately depend upon the size of you’r hand.
