gbh45 Guest | I have the newest upgrade Windows Media Player, but everytime I try to play a video in the avi or rar format, it will not play. What can I do so I can play these?

TD Guest | Rar is not a video format. It is for general compression purposes. Before you can use the files inside rar you need to uncompress them. For that use winrar. Avi is not a format to. Its just a container for diferrent video/audio formats. Wmp is able to open avi but it cannot understand many of the actual formats inside. To teach wmp how to do it use k-lite standard.

I am not very good at technical parts of the WMP, that’s why I am asking for your help. What is k-lite standard? Please let me know as soon as you can..........thanks!

klite standard is just a codec pack pack if u do a google search u will find it
and to uncompress the rar files just use a prog called winrar

Leon47 Guest | avi video format can play by downloading this program(software) “FFDSHOW” but rar files, I dunno about that please help me with that... i cant play rar files, and about the RMVB file, how can i import them into the Windows Movie Maker?

fist convet into mpeg/avi ... then import. u need a converter... u can find it using google.com
u can find rmvb plug-in for WMP to play rmvb files
