Only my mpeg files work properly

All my video files don’t play properly in any application, even VLC (the sound works, but the image are like if it was a bad slide show!), exept one which is a mp4 file that i was able to play with quicktime player. Usually, the files play but the sound/vid aren’t synchronized, the video has problem catching up or the sound starts to make a sort grinding sound (kind a like interference)

I have checked them in GSpot and when I render it, it says it should be able to play it, but while saying there are video codecs missing, like divx 5.0 / 3.0
