MP4 video problem: no audio

Hi guys, hope you can help me out on this because it has frustrated me for quite a while now. I need to play mp4 video files so i downloaded a codec for windows media player 10. I got to play it but it had no audio. I downloaded Video lan player and also got to play the video but it still had no audio. I know it has something to do with my audio codecs.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
