dvd burning

please help when i burn a dvd on a dvd+r it freezes or doesn’t play at all but when i use a dvd+rw disc its fine . where am i going wrong

I have seen people post about different brands of media paired with different types of burners which are not exactly compatable. Usually burners come with 2 disks free, you’ve probably used the dvd+r and bought some other brand disk, could this be the case?

when i bought the dvd writer the guy in the shop said it can use + or -
i’ve always used + discs some copy’s are fine could it be i’ve just been burning them too fast
