anonymous Guest | You can recompress it with xvid if you want to shrink it, but you have to watch out for quality degradation. Another solution would be to split the movie into two parts. Either solution can be done with virtualdub.
There are xvid ports for mac os x. google it some and you might find them.

aliasfreak Guest | Well, I tried to slit it with Virtuldub, but then the audio n video doesnt work together. THat really sucks! Isn’t there a better Splitter? Oke, I could work it out with Mac Os X, but I juts dunno how to recompress or split it!

anonymous Guest | I should have included clearer directions. Sorry. Here’s a link.
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/cut_avi_with_virtualdub.cfm
The important thing is you want to pick direct stream copy for both audio and for video so it copies without doing any recompression. that’s 1. 2 you have to split at keyframes so the cuts are accurate. to jump with keyframes you’ll see the two little arrows at the bottom with little yellow keys. that allows you to jump between keyframes.
another tip: after you save the first part like they said on the link, click edit and choose clear selection - it’ll remove the first part and you can just click save to save the second part without having to select the second part manually.
