Problem playing avi, Dolby AC3 Audio (code 8192) install Directshow decoder?

If using quote number two doesn’t help as it didn’t on my computer u can try going to downloads.com type in directshow decoder in the search box and the click on the Windows Essential Media codec Pack 1 and download it. Just follow the instructions. That should work. It worked on my compuer no prob. Hope that helps anyone that wasn’t getting any results with the other advice.

Clic on this one, save it to a place ( new folder )in your “received files " and then open it( double clic )
Put it in your " program files " following the instructions.When this is done, your movie will have sound.
It works with my movie

Ok I did the download, installed it but during instal got an error message that files were missing clb.dll any hints here?
I did a reinstall but still keep getting the same message.

thx for the help great so far in solving most issues I’ve come across. specially for a noob smiley

Thanks. Now I am able to see the movie. I downloaded MPEG decoder012 but that did not work but this link really worked for me.

i have an avi file that doesn’t show the video.. but there’s a sound.. it says that i need to install “DirectShow Decoder”.. my problem is i don’t know what to install specifically.. there’s a lot of DirectShow Decoder. I don’t know which one to install.. pls. reply asap
