Problem playing avi, Dolby AC3 Audio (code 8192) install Directshow decoder?

David R Guest I downloaded the Directshow Decoder and I was still getting no audio... I figured out that I needed to download the AC3Filter. After I downloaded the file I am getting audio!!!! I hope this works for you too! I got the free download from http://ac3filter.net/project/1/releases You have to scroll down to the middle of the page for the installer!

JLut Guest I have downloaded the file, but now the volume is low. It seems to be a common problem on this forum. Does anyone know why this is or how to solve this? Music and other sounds on my laptop works fine. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you’re still having trouble, this is the updated information: You can go directly to this link and download the AC3 Filter that will open the soundtrack in your .avi file. http://www.moviecodec.com/downloads/20d.html Download: ac3filter_1_46.exe You can extract this directly into Program Files. Just open and install. You no longer need to reboot first for this filter to work. Enjoy the show.

kem Guest having problems playing a DVD-rip download. This comes up “The file contains a track in the Dolby AC3 Audio code “8192” format. You may need to install a Directshow decoder for this audio format." what shall i do?
