Did you use the free tmpgenc? It’s downloadable at tmpgenc.net. If you go to tmpgenc.com it’s a pay version.

Hi, Please try this WinAVI Video Converter http://www.winavi.com/video-converter.htm .In fact, after trying numerous methods most of which are crap I happened across to wonderful pieces of software that helped me convert my avi film to mpeg¡£
First off what you need to understand is that converting any format to any other format takes time, it is a 30 minute process!!! The quickest I have seen it is the one I am going to show you now.(And by the way, it also supports to burn to vcd/svcd/dvd....)

Head over to videohelp.com.

You’ll prolly want to start with tmpgenc (free version). Stay away from everything thing else, this is the best encoding tool you can get that is freeware.....if you want to spend the money get canopus procoder or something on that scale.

if it is a audio problem with tmpeg
then you need to do this

1 boot tmpeg and cancel the wizard
2 click on the option button
3 click on enviromental setting
4 then click on vfapi plugin
5 then right click on direct multimedia file reader and move to higher priority no 2

What the hell are you talking about? Tmpgenc is NOT FREEWARE! It’s shareware! Why the hell does everybody say it’s free when it ain’t!

Everyone’s all talkin' shit like “Oh, tmpgenc is free, no seriously...and so is MSN Messenger."

WTF!! Where’s the god damn fine print! Fuck, I’m looking for a FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE program that will enable me to convert my files to mpeg format. Does anybody know one?
