avc 1100 Adaptec capture device

I recently purchased the above capture device,the product is working fine apart from one thing,i can’t enable colour in the video properties.I can’t get any help from Adaptec they say the unit id # is out of date dispite it was purchased just 4/5 weeks ago and any enquiry has to be paid for.
If anyone has had the same problem with unit enabling the colour/could they please let me in on the method, any help would be appreciated.
