playback .ogm and .ssa

I have a movie that is composed of .ogm and .ssa files, presumably the .ssa is the English subtitles. How do I get the subs to play along with the movie? I have VLC player.

I would like to know this also, someone please help, the instructions posted for playing SSA files along with AVI files do not seem to work.
