realplayz Guest | Hi,
Thanks for your help. My question is that I have a wire connected from my computer to the TV. The TV shows my desktop but when I play a video, it plays on the monitor but doesnt show on the TV. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have used WMP, RealPlayer, VLC Player, and Winamp but nothing works. THanks a lot!

Marcus Aurelius Guest | Here is a link about how to connect a tv set to a pc. Check the setting for your video card on manufacturer site.http://www.svideo.com/compaq1700.html Moderated 18 Jul 2007 08:42 am by anonymous

MARCO 1 Guest | hEY, JUST Look in your player,(go to Options -> Output (under playback) -> DirectShow Video and change to VMR9 (windowed), or (renderless) usually works too)

(It’s often referred to as hardware acceleration - it’s also used in games). The trouble is DirectDraw only works on one device at most (this may change in Vista - I’m not sure). MARCO 1’s suggestion may work, but keep in mind that disabling hardware acceleration can take a hit on performance. The better solution is to set your TV as the primary output device. If you right click your desktop, then properties, settings, there should be a drop down menu somewhere that will allow you to choose your primary output device (it’ll be usually be marked with a big 1 or a big 2).
It looks something like thisLast edited 18 Jul 2007 08:49 am by anonymous
