Actually that download won’t play VCR1 right if you’re using Windows NT 4, 2000, 2003, or XP (pure 32-bit OSes). VCR1 is a 16-bit codec. It plays fine on Windows 95, 98, and Me though (hybrid 16/32-bit OSes).
Use ffdshow-tryouts instead if you have Windows NT 4, 2000, 2003, or XP.
http://www.moviecodec.com/downloads/335d.html Be sure to select VCR1 decoding in the settings (I don’t remember where they are since I’m not using ffdshow at the moment, but if you’re having trouble locating them, get back to me).
(There’s another way to play it in XP/2000/etc. with that package, but it involves installing Virtual PC, then Windows 95, 98, or Me inside the virtual machine - get back to me if you’re adventurous (bored) enough to try it).
