anonymous Guest | You probably want to consider cinepak. It’s an old codec that was supposed to make movies playable on 1x and 2x cd-roms and 386s. If you’re encoding a movie in cinepak it may take a little while though, since it’s an asymmetrical codec. It takes much longer to make the movie than to play it.
On the other end of the spectrum the codec you would want to avoid would be divx 5. I’ve never seen anything chew as much raw CPU power as that one! (my processor can’t keep up and always ends up dropping frames) |
