Hey everyone. Im new to the forums, and has been searching the internet far and wide. Im at loss. I thought buying the JVC HDD camcorder would be worth it, for serious editing and fast capturing. But the problem is those dang .MOD files. My dvd players play them, but I cant open them in any sort of editing progra.

My question is how to convert these .MOD files into usable files (avi, mpg, wmv) for any editing software. While maintaing high quality & sound.

Thanx for the insite.

Please try Alive MP4 Converter, which allows you to convert your MOD to AVI, MPEG or other formats.

Sunny May is absolutely correct! The AliveMedia MP4 converter did the trick. It took a little while to convert the videos, but once completed, there was no problem with launching them in Windows Media Player and Real Player. The free trial version only allows you to convert 60% of each video clip, but who’s complaining?
