John Mitchell Guest | when i convert any video no matter what the format the sound and the video do not match. i do not know what the problem is but reckon it might be something to do with the codecs. Anybody have any ideas...?

Bobby C Guest | I have experienced similar problems.I use winavi v7.6 to convert mainly aXXo films (the man is a GOD!!) then burn using DVD Santa v4.0 both of which are alledgedly the best versions...when i play my dvd’s on a stand alone player the audio tracking wanders out for approx 15mins i notice an odd glitch in the picture every 10-15 minutes or so...this is not a problem and doesnt affect the viewing, however sometimes it knocks the synch out and other times it matches it back up perfectly.
I have used different forms of discs (dvd-r,dvd+r..etc) to no avail.I notice a slightly better result if i adjust the audio bitrate setting in advanced to as close to (if not spot on) as it shows in the details tab before converting ,this might help or it could be a programme fault. Not sure if the 2 programmes i use are the best for the job,but i find them faster than others i have tried (winavi converts a 700mb avi. file in 50-80 minutes)If anyone knows any better programmes that will produce perfect results PLEASE let me know

rabbit Guest | I have the very same problem ...
its a cause of when the uploader cuts out the commercials and the two files join together that causes the file to go out of sync.
This does not happen on movies because there are no commercial breaks ...
PS-'if you leave it play out of sync for 10 seconds and then rewind it about 5 seconds,it reboots.
You can only do this on you pc/laptop

prayer Guest | i have the same problem but i used dvdsanta (4.00) to convert. It works fine all the time until recently i tried converting a movie (.avi and aXXo) I convert those all the time, no problem at all. But now when i use dvdsanta, the output dvd files' video and audio don’t match. I checked the original .avi movie file and its fine, auido/video match perfectly. Does anyone know what’s the cause of this problem?

When do you do all your converting?
It is best to close all other programs that are not needed when converting the movie files.
It apears that if your system resources become strained then the conversion becomes out of sync.
Might i suggest that you leave the conversion process to night, when you donty need to use the computer.
Give it a try and see how you go.

The file itself could be out of sync or corrupted.

Schmaulie Guest | 1. If the file itself is out of sync when you get it then you could always do what I do...
I have always used Dr. DivX (Google it, it’s free) or DivX Converter to convert non DivX to DivX. Now, I know that this isn’t the main topic here but bear with me...
Once this is done, it spits out the file as an .divx file. No issue, simply change the file extension to .avi and it still plays. Ok , I’ll get to the point in minute...
Now. The process of converting it to an .avi means that you can use a programme called Yet Another AVI Info Tool. (Get it here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/YAAI_Yet_Another_Avi_Info.htm. It’s also free) This small yet powerful programme lets you re-sync the audio to the video on any .avi file. (Can be laborious but once it’s in sync you’ll feel much better...)
Once this is done, you can then convert it to DVD or whatever by using NeroVision.
2. If the file is out of sync once you’ve converted it, try using a different converter, like AllToAvi (get it here: http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net/index.php). It’s a very simple and quick way of converting more or less any video filetype to .avi.
Let me know if this helps as I have a workable solution to most audio video issues I’ve encountered.

Any solutions for mpeg2? I use a Plextor m402u to capture video as mpeg2 files. The device connects to the pc via usb. I have a dual core processor but despite this I experience perhaps 1 second delay on the sound by the end of a 2 hour movie. I do not use the pc for anything else during capture and I disable antivirus whilst capturing.

Audio Skew is Easy Guest | you should use dvd shrink or dvd decryptor/ripit4me for ripping.. AutoGK for xvid encoding, vdub for splitting/joining. You might get a sync problem on 2nd or third sections if your joining in vsub.. but media player classic can be adjusted to show you how far the deviation is and u can just audio skew the subsequent files for a match. If you use these programs you won’t get a progressive audio skew issue. Just use Nero to burn with.. does a great job with most vid formats. I have Never had a DVD burned through Nero out of Sync.
Really guys.... why would you wanna go with any other format? Xvid is way by far the best quality/compression out there. If you are looking for quality and don’t care about the space.... just set AutoGK for 100% quality. If you have portable players that use the mp4 format just use Nero Recode...

oxunion Guest | I have this problem recently, but with simple downloaded files, which used to play fine just a week ago. Very strange I say. All players play them offset so I figure I have some problem with my sound/video drivers...

I have used Daniusoft Video Converter Suite to convert DVD/Video for a long time, all the video and audio is good.
You may free download to have a try.
Otherwise, you may check your original video,
