divx 5 in still nothing

Hi so I put in divx 5 the tool software says Then looked at it with the avi software thing It shows it is there. Downloaded the windows version of Divx 5 Checked that, the movies still won’t play I remember seeing something somewhere about the order of the codecs but can’t find it now. What am I missing? Kathy sad
