S. Guest | Thanks a billion! I was getting really annoyed that most of the answers I was getting were 'Just reinstall windows' as if that were a quick fix. This couldn’t have worked better. Really, thanks.

ruben_nepali Guest | So much postings no answers. This is caused by a file that might have been deleted in your VISTA. Now, which file ? I don’t know. I checked Microsoft site for VISTA stuff and Can’t find any info. Installing any ADPCM audio codec might help but don’t know where to get it. There are so many but go 2 be weary of spyware/adware/ virus etc. Can a true guru come here and help us solve this. If VISTA says that ADPCM is already included in VISTA, what is the name of this file and how can I get it back ? All those suggestions about updating the sound drivers are incorrect answers.
I have the same problem, If I do find a solution I will post it here and also at http://bhupen.k6yar.com/
Hope we can fix this ASAP. I have this problem with all .wav files with ADPCM codec. I used gspot to findout which codec they had and they did have ADPCM init.
I had installed codecs, removed some, someone I think one of them actually deleted the AUDIO CODEC ADPCM from my vista. Is this the case ?
Please some GURU come and help, I am in vain!!!!
