Cameleopard Guest | I have the xvid codec and yet some movies utilizing this codec won’t play. I checked the 4cc of the video in question with Gspot and it says the 4cc is XVID/. All of my other xvid video files are just listed as xvid in the 4cc. Is XVID/ a different codec from xvid, and if so, where can I find it? If this is an error on the part of the file, is there any way of changing/fixing the 4cc? | |

anonymous Guest | Ukraine’s reply contains a link to the divx player. You don’t really need the whole player. you can just get the codec (be sure to get the version that doesn’t contain adware - it’s kind of hidden) from divx.com.
Recent releases of divx 5 are usually able to handle xvid, but that is not always the case. In case it fails, get the xvid codec from here
