Check the disc, it’s most likely there in a folder. It should be marked by whoever gave you the disc.

If any of you are talking about “Back-ups” then go to gamecopyworld.com

Use the search bar and look for the game.

hey guys i did everything this post said so far. i’m stuck though. i have final fantasy 8 game (in bin and cue)so far i got the install bin to work. i used deamon successfully to do that. but now i cant seem to get the other 4 game files to work. part 1 - 4 (in bin and cue again.) i tried putting them in seprate drives and in one drive and one file at a time. i must be missing something. hopefully there enough of a description here and noone has to repeat info.

ive been at this for hours thanks for the help.

.cue files are just “text files”. You can right-click them and “Open With..." Notepad (all though I prefer Notepad++). It is sort of similar to a .m3u file in that all it contains is text - it’s not an “executable” or some form of compressed file you can “unpack”. It’s a “reference” to where a file should be split into tracks.

By default, my system wanted to use Nero to open the .cue file. Nero didn’t really know what to do with it though. When all else fails, I use Magic ISO as it can open virtually any file. That’s the application you will need, as well as FLAC Front End. FLAC Front End is a free and easy to use program. Search Google.

Typically, you will see one .cue file and one .flac file. As I was saying before, if you open the .cue file w/ a text editor it will read sort of like an .XML file. This is where you will see it is looking for .wav files. That’s why you need FLAC Front End to convert it to .wav and then Magic ISO to extract the files - you don’t even have to burn them to a CD! =)

Once I get the .wavs, I import them into iTunes as .mp3 (lossy compression). I only keep the original .flac files if it’s a band a really like or something special.

Good luck!

I have two questions about this. First do I need to save the bin/cue files in the same directory as alcohol 120 or can they be save in a different directory?

My second question is am I doing something wrong with a120 when making the image files as in not using the write setting’s when burning?

I currently use general cd protection when making my cd’s.

YEs I did it with my SWAT 4 but after everything it still asks me the game cd but in the beginning of instal it asked cd 1 and 2 i did what you typed
but when i wanne play it asks me the game cd what to do

Okay, I am *completely* lost!

I feel like I’ve tried everything now.

I’m trying to open a .bin file from Mega Man X Collection on PS2, specifically COM_BGM.BIN — it supposedly holds the background music (from the “LAUNCHER” folder). I tried Daemon, but my computer told me it couldn’t access the drive once I followed the instructions. No other attempt at opening the bin with Daemon had any effect either.

So next up was MagicISO. I did *precisely* what Drav above suggested — but nothing. It extracted the file alright. But it’s still in .BIN format and unusable to me! I think somehow I need it to open up into a catalog of background music. Is there a way to do this, to get this thing cracked open?

Thanks!

Note: Also, I’m about as new and clueless to all this stuff as the original poster of this thread. Talk to me as such. =P

I’m trying to start a game rar. file in order to play it. I’ve extracted the files, and opened the .iso file using Daemon tools. However, there’s no option for me to start playing the game. Not to mention, there is still a .cue file left over.

lol it’s 2008 year now and somehow i got on this old thread.
anyway the easiest way is to download daemon tools or alcohol %120...either way you can just mount the .bin file and autorun will start.

to mount it in daemon just run daemon and right click on the tray icon and chose virtual cd/dvd rom and then chose a device and mount up you .bin. that should do it smiley

Hey guys i downloaded starwars kotor 2. i got 4 .cue files and their respective bin files. Using Nero i burned them onto cd’s and then installed the game onto my laptop. I copied the nocd crack into my program files and it still won’t work. Any advice?
