Some help needed with codecs

Another clueless user here. My problem is rather simply, I tried using G-Spot to figure out what codec I needed for this sample file, but apparently it’s non-compatible as it’s an mpeg file. I thought download the two mpegs codecs I knew of, dvix and xvix would fix it but apparently not. Are there any other mpeg codecs I would need?

I don’t want to download any codec mega packs because frankly my PC had problems running with that many codecs in there last time.
