Copied DVD has no audio

I am trying to back up a movie and I have used nero to burn it to a dvd and it works grat if I use VLC media player but if I try to use my DVD player on my tv it plays the video without the sound. It might be because the DVD player is a few years old but it does play the orignal DVD’s without a problem.

How can I get Audio back?
