GRDLCKD Guest | ok, i have been tryin to d/l a movie from kazaa lite resurrection. I have actually got the movie 6-7 different times and had the same problem each time, it wont play on any players saying the codec is not valid or something to that effect. I d/l’ed a program called videotoolbox and when i run the file to see what codec it needs i get...“DIB Full Frames (uncompressed)" In this program next to where it says “codec” it gives you a download option. When i click on this it gives me a “FOURCC DIB
The fourcc ( four character code ) specified does not appear to be a valid alphanumeric 4 character string." This is how i found this site. It has been very helpful so far and i have learned alot reading but i cant figure this out. Like i said im a noob to this and dont really know what im doin so any help will be greatly appriciated

You could try playing it using VLC (www.videolan.org). If it doesn’t play in that, it would support my guess that the file’s a fake.

LC Guest | hold up, i have the same problem and i know my file isn’t fake, i’ve looked through the actual video on other programs but i’m trying to use it on Windows movie maker.
i got the video from a dvd and i wanna make a little music video w/it just for fun.
it plays on other programs, including windows media player
i think movie maker is just stubborn like that

anonymous Guest | fourcc of dib suggests an uncompressed file. it could be of incorrect length. try playing it with media player classic, avipreview, or quicktime player and see what gives. (I’m not promising miracles, but those are things to try)
