Please help! I have been fighting my computer for a while and am pulling my hair out. The more I do the worse it gets.
Right now I have NO codec packs installed. I tried K-lite, CCCP, XP codec pack and none worked so I uninstalled all.
To use a specific problem, I have a video about 63 mb that g-spot tells me uses DX50 codec, and that I have it on my computer. It works fine in divx player, but I want to play it in virtualdub and media player classic. When I try it plays but stops and starts and jumps. How do I get this clip to work in vdub and MPC?
Thank you.

Try ffdshow and checkmark VirtualDub also use more video analysers like Avicodec or Video Inspector and if no luck try an avi repair tool.

I installed ffdshow (thought I already had but turns out I had not) and it now works in virtualdub ok, but now NOTHING works in MPC. If I try to play anything, it crashes.
