Codec Error

Hey, When I try to open a .WAV files my Media player says “Missing codec, unable to open file." Please let me know what should I do, I have tried reinstalling the Media player, installed Direct-X 9 but all in vain. I am scratching my head all over to solve this problem

Hello, (well i kind of have the same trouble, and still haven’t solved)i have read in some forums that could be some trouble with the sound card (some conflict) i do not have one, and i do have the same problem that u, u should try to
re-install the driver, or download AC3 filters or the oggVorbis codec, anyway, if u solve this, please post ur solution (if its diferen thatn this ones)and tell me if any of this works
