Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 26 Jun 2006 Posts: 1 OFFLINE | Hi. I bought the MobiDV H12 DV Camcorder from a seller on ebay, and just received it, and it didn’t come with the users manual or any instructions. It only came with the unit itself, the ear phones, the usb cable, the ac adapter, the case, and the 128mb SDcard. Oh yeah, and it had the battery.
I installed the battery and plugged the unit into the wall with the AC adaptor. I turned it on to see if it worked, and it did turn on. I was able to use all the button functions of the player just to see what they did, but then I put the SD card in the slot, and I think I hit the display button or something, and it showed me a picture of video camera in the top left corner and it said “No Card” (or something along those lines - - basically it was saying it didn’t recognize the SDcard that I popped into the unit). Anyway, after that, I couldn’t power off the unit, I couldn’t do anything. None of the buttons worked. I finally had to pop out the battery and pop it back in again just to get it to turn off. So after awhile of fooling around with it, (and this is of course after charging it for over an hour) I finally realized that although the card fit and locked in place the way I put it in, I had apparently put the card in upside down and it needed to be turned over. So I did that, popped the battery back out and popped it back in again, and the unit came on and instead of giving me a screen message saying “no card” it simply displayed the same picture of the video camera in the top left corner, and it also showed apparently how many minutes and seconds are left on the card I was presumed to be taping to. It also said “640” in a little box below the video camera icon on the screen. Still though, none of the buttons worked. The unit won’t turn off. I have to pull the battery out each and every time I try and figure out what the heck is wrong with the unit. I made sure there were some music files in the right folder under DCIM, so that doesn’t seem to be the problem of it just seeing a blank disk.
Without the owners manaul, I can’t figure out what to do. I’ve searched high and low online for a way to get a copy of the instructions, but as good of an internet searcher I am, I was unable to find anything, besides this site, worth my time. The person who sold me the unit is naturally not available to communicate with.
I don’t even know who makes this darn thing. I tried to type in I-Joy as a manufacturer, but no go.
Can someone please help me figure this out. I’d really like to get my hands on a users manual, but if nothing else, helping me figure out how to get the unit to work again would be appreciated at this point.
Anyone??

As soon as you turn the unit on, start continuously hitting the right arrow button. That will cause the spotlight to turn on and off, but it should also solve your problem.
Mine only ever freezes up like this whenever I switch SD cards. As long as you are using the same card however, it shouldn’t be a problem after this one particular time.
Let me know how it turns out!
