I’m not getting any sound either. Has ANYBODY got an answer to this? It says you have to provide an alternative sound file, but I’m hoping that doesn’t mean you have to extract all the audio and video streams from the .avi file and then use that audio stream in the .amv

Okay here is how you do it, it’s about tedious, but it’s worth it:

1. Download AoA Audio Extractor and extract the audio stream from your movie. (it’s pretty easy)

2. Download Alto MP3 Maker and turn the extracted MP3 file into a .wav file.

3. Convert your movie file in the AMV video converter, loading the .wav file to replace the audio lost in the transcoding.

Works perfectly, all programs are free to download and use, and easy too. If you need help, email me at anywien@gmail.com

It took me a while to fiqure out this china mp4, got most of everything working except I don’t get any sound from the converted amv file, even when I play this converted file on my desktop. I have not tried the software that came with the player cause I was too friekin lazy to install it cause i need to download all the codecs and some other thingamigger. Any way I used one of those online converters at media-convertdotcom it does many other conversions also it seemed to work fine except no friggen sound.

Lets keep it simple.
An easy solution is at hand.
Go to....

http://www.conceppt.com

Look at the menu column on the right and click “Downloads 2”
Once there scroll down the page and click “Convertion Service”
A new page will open. Click the “Choose file” button and upload your file.
A bit further down you’ll find an “output format” menu/button: choose format and then click the “OK” button.
Wait for a minute whilst it converts and then download the converted file.

I suggest that before uploading you use QuickTime and “export” your video to a .mov file, with the following settings..
Video...Compression: H.264, Quality: Medium, Frame rate: 15, Encoding mode: multipass, Dimension: 160x120, Sale: Fit within (160x120).
Sound... Format: Integer (Big Endian), Sample rate: 44,100 khz, Sample size: 16-bit, Channels: Mono.

Easy, free, no hassles, no spy/ad ware.
