pjpm Guest | Hope someone can help.
I’ve got an avi file that has mp3 audio. I’m trying to convert the movie so I can play it in a standalone dvd player. I’ve tried converting with Avi2dvd which converts the video ok but when I play the dvd burnt film in my dvd player the sound is stuffed - just weird. Can anyone suggest a program or some way that will convert the video and audio to vob files that can be burnt to a dvd and will play ok in my dvd player?

pjpm Guest | I’ve tried transcoding thru Nero Vision, WinAvi, Avi2Dvd and attempted with TMPGEnc. All had the same resulut. The video was ok but the sound was stuffed.
Unless I’m transcoding the wrong way. Just can’t work it out.
Thanks for the reply.

Marcus Aurelius Guest | Elly gave you a tip, install AC3 filter.Usually the HDTV shows come in Xvid format with MP3 audio.Try to play the avi before convertion and if is ok picture and sound try to convert it.You can play the file after convertion just open the video ts folder and try one of the vob files.Don’t waste the dvd’s check twice before burning. If the vobs are ok is something wrong with the setting for your burner. You may check the dvd’s already burnt before with a lot of tools like VSO Video Inspector, DVD Info and I think Nero has a Info tool too. Here is link for AC3 filter is a must to have it install: http://www.free-codecs.com/
About your codecs collection from the same link download and install All in One Pack,Xvid,DivX,XP. Use tools like GSpot or Avicodec to check your avi.Avicodec give you a link to download the codec just click on “Web” after you open your avi with. Good Luck.

pjpm Guest | Thanks Marcus for your suggestions. Although I already have AC3 filter installed and everything is ok before and after conversion when I check on PC. It’s when I burn to DVD and play in DVD player that the sound doesn’t work.
So that’s confused me.
I’ll try your suggestions and see how a go this time. Thanks again.
