Windows movie maker 2

I am attempting to transfer a dv from camera to hard drive in order to use wmm2. During the capture process frames are being dropped, resulting in incomplete and choppy audio and video.

What can I do to correct this problem?

My ultimate goal is to burn finished version to dvd.
