Dont install fuck!
In the end you’ll have enough codecs to induce a conflict then crash ur computer.
Dont just install codecs and hope for the best, use GSpot to ascertain which codecs u actually need.
Since the original poster specifically said that GSpot cannot provide the information about the codecs needed this is really excellent advice....

UnknownHero Guest | I’ve had many problems with stuff from these guys and each one tells you to install a “DIVO” Codec to playback the file. DO NOT INSTALL! The Codec is spyware and these guys are trying to get people to download said “codec." Do not download from these guys, and avoid them if you can.

Massive Guest | I searched GSpot and found a site for a AVS converter. When Downloded the softwear I was able to play the files. Oh by the way, You also need the latest version of winamp media player.

imfilm Guest | If you have are trying to play back the file on a Mac using Quicktime player, you need to install the latest xvid component which can be downloaded for free here:
http://www.xvid.org/Links.13.0.html
This solved my problem when trying to play back xvid.lol files. Good luck.
