pattin Guest | hi everybody, i´m from argentine..excuse my english but..y have a problem! I download Colin Mc Rae 2005 in a .rar archive..i extract it and appears 2 files ( CmR05_01.mdf 3.7gb and Cmr05_01.mds 5kb ) , i want to install the game! but i don´t understan what i ´ve to do withs this damm files! can anyone explain me what i´ve to do? i didn´t have a cd´burner..please explain me what i´ve to do to run the game

MCVampire Guest | For Sid Meier’s pirates ... I try to convert it to iso then burn it ... but like said No Longer Frustrated ... we can’t !
I try with MagicIso: The .mdf are 671Mb and after converting the .iso have .34Ko ... Whew what a fuck! It’s seem to make the samething with Abe’s Oddyssee. I will try with Alchol 120% in ten min ... but n e way ... somebody know why ?
And n e one know how to split a .iso who have 3.13Go to mulitiple .iso of ~700Mo ? I tried with MaxSplit but doesn’t work.

MCVampire Guest | Yeahh Alcohol 120% are perfect ... I just done to burn the game Pirates.
This program could convert the .mdf files to .iso:
First open the .mdf with Alcohol like a virtual disk, after just do a new image and take the virtual disk as source. Convert it to iso and then modiy your file. :P Done Yet ! 
Still needing help to split a .iso who have 1 Go and more to mulitiple .iso of ~700Mo.

MCVampire Guest | Actually, Alcohol seem to do the same thing than MagicISO AND Deamon tool. You can mount image, convert files and burn a CD. Just download the last trial version on the web site of alcohol and try to find the crack
I’ve try 3 or 4 program to split an .iso ... nothings working Let me know if someone find how or something!

Hunis Guest | I hope this hasn’t been answered anywhere and this is not off the topic or anything...
I have a problem with mounting couple cd-images. I’ve tried all sort of programs (at least DT, Alcohol 52/120) and images (made myself and downloaded) so it shouldn’t be a problem with software/images. It’s either some problem with settings or some other usage-problem. Tried using all kinda emulation-settings.
The games I haven’t got to work: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, Diablo2: Lords of Destruction, NHL 2005 and Half-Life 2. These can be installed through the images but if I try to play, it returns an error. Something like “make sure your game cd is inside the cd-rom drive”. I was wondering can the actual windows name of the image have anything to do with it (the only thing that comes to mind anymore).

The thing is that I have a gaming-cafe and if there is a new patch for a game, I can’t download and install it straight away since the game has a “no-cd” crack applied. I’ve found out that some games even delete themselves (Ground Control 2) and some claim the game is not installed (Battlefield) if you apply the patch on top of the crack. So if there is a way to mount them without using the “no-cd” cracks, it would make things a lot easier.

MCVampire Guest | Hmmm I never get a Game that doesn’t work after the patch but maybe ur right. The thing is ... Each games have his own SecuROM / Key / CD-Checks and if the CD you have are not 1:1 it will be difficult seem impossible to make it work without patch. On maybe 30 games I have 20 or 25 need a patch ( NoCD or Fixed EXE ). I’m sure you can mount it and install it, but when time to come to play the game, each computer will ask for the real CD ... there why the NoCD patch. I don’t see anything else ... sorry.

ISO and BIN files are not the same no ... Actually when u generate a CUE/BIN file ... u get the 2 of them for the CD ... without one of theses 2 files ... u can’t do anything, u need both of them. And if I remember well ... it’s the CUE u must mount ... that why u can’t make it work. I offer u to send the game ( 2CD with crack )in .iso ... .iso are ( personnaly ) the best. It’s has u wish.

note:to the forum guys, you can convert an iso image to have a cue sheet by using iso buster etc but make sure u select cue/bin as it converts any cd protection..and if u convert a mds/mdf file or even a cue/bin file to an .iso image u lose much of the cd profile..
iso images are just basic cd/dvd images without the profile of the cd/dvd..again..securom can be copied but if u look around on the net theres sure to be somewhere where someone has successfully copied you particular game..
for many dvd games USE BLINDWRITE TO COPY AND LOAD IMAGE !!..u cant be too lazy to do that which is a simple process
