After reading the other posts i’m still lost! I’ve got 3 folders, in each is a MDF file and MDS file. THe MDF file is over 700Mb and the MDS file 1k. I’ve tried ISO magic, but you have to buy it to work with files over 300Mb in size. The 3 files should be games disc for a pc (not PS2)I’ve try to burn the MDS file to disc(like a bin file) but nothing happens. I cant open either file. I have put the MDS file through ISO magic but still cant open it! Are you suppost to convert the file to ISO then just double click it to install? Any ideas would be great help.

If you already got mdf files that does mean you know where to get other progs for nutting.
Alcahol 120% is a good one to get for your type of files.

I found the answer to my question. You can download a great FREE ISO buster from www.downloads.com VERY simple. open ISO buster browse for your MDS or MDF files and just add them. It does what ever it does VERY fast, save the out come to a new location and then burn to disc! Also does bin/cue/data and loads more i’ve never heard of. Thanks for the replys guys.

you can use iso buster to change the file from mds or mdf to bin by opening the image and then right clicking on where it says cd in the left colum and then pick extract to .tao , .bin. i did it and it made a bin file.

Bin files are basically the entire CD in a single spot. So pull out nero, or another CD burning prog and load the bin file rather than drag-dropping it into a New Data CD

Yo,
I tried the three programs mentioned here and Isobuster is better in my opinion, BTW they only ask for donations... while WinIso and UltraISO are Shareware.

Someone said it could change mdf to bin, so can it change a mds to cue?

huh

Guess I’m fuct or sumpin.

I downloaded Isobuster and used it to extract an .mds file, but I fail to see where the option is to choose which format to extract it to.

I’m not an expert at this or anything, but I’m definitely not new at this either. New to .mds for sure. I’m using version 1.6.

After I hilite the content of the .mds file and select extract is it a simple burn of the contents that are removed? It doesn’t seem to create a tidy .iso or .cue or even a .nrg.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Peas.

The contents you extract with isobuster you burn as data whereas using the mdf and mds files you can burn using alcohol 120%.

FFS its not that hard after reading the posts.
1. Get 'ISO buster' from www.download.com
2. Open ISO buster and in the top left corner open 'File' then 'Image file' Now browse to the file you want.
3. Create a folder in windows.
4. Drag/Drop the files into the new file you just made.
5. Burn the outcome.

ISO buster is free and i think free is best!

nero also will make a Virtual drive the same as damon tool...I have used both and find nero more easy and then just burn it right after testing to CD.
By the way thank you guys above for the tip on Isobuster..at first it asked for a serial but i enter free version and it seems to work great..does anyone know what the Paid version adds?

ive used it quite a bit, and i love alcohol, but it doesnt work on my burner, so therefore, programs like IsoBuster are needed...

think before you write.
