So, heres my problem. I’ve followed advice regarding converting .MOD fils from my everio into iMovie HD-fine, worked a treat. However, I can’t find a way to export them into iDVD to finish them off! Has anyone had this same problem? Whats the solution?
Frustrated with apples lack of initiative with new formats!
Help is needed!

Arfur Guest | Hi, I have been following the trail and they are all based around JVC cameras. Does anyone have the same problems with Panasonic/MAC and have you found the solution. I have the SDR H20 and cannot load into imovie. The software provided is for PC only. From the information revealed so far I think that square5 is the way forward. Any advice greatfully accepted !

Jon77 Guest | Another option, that works great is ffmpegX, a shareware program that can convert the .mod files directly to .mov .mp4, or dv to name a few options.

u.k. guest Guest | I just dowloaded the drop dv from www.dropdv.com
it’s easy- but you have to purchase it otherwise there’s a watermark on it. so far- using the trial- it’s dead easy with imovie. thanks for all the advice here.

macmama Guest | I can’t even get the EVERIO icon to show up on my desktop after I connect the USB cable. I followed instructions from JVC’s “PC Operantion Guide” and I got nothing... Any ideas?

macmama Guest | I guess I should mention that I have the GZ-MG130 model, and it doesn’t come with a doc that I’ve seen mentioned on the JVC website tutorial video.

Richard Skelhorn Guest | Hey guys, the Eviro Now works PERFECTLY with the new iLife (imovie 08). You plug the Eviro in and iMovie shows each clip in events and you can pick and choose what to import! — NO HASTLE!!! So Upgrade and your problems are solved. For those of you who don’t want to,... DropDV worked extreamly well and it is worth the money (30 bux or something) but you will be genuinely impressed with the new iMovie.

The Solution Guest | NO NO NO!!!! There is an easier way! All you need ot do is buy a firewire/dv cables seperately and use it to edit movies in Imovie: look at this video at everios website!!!:::http://media2.jvc.com/camcorder/macG.mov

nellelawrence Guest | "the solution” - that video didn’t come up......i have tried for 3 days and it tells me that the server cannot be found. i have tried 3 different computers at 3 different locations, so i know the problem is not on my end.......could you please recap the video (i’ve seen it once before, about 2 weeks ago)....so i need a firewire/dv cable and where does that hook up on the dock? thanks!!!!

Easy answer Guest | THERE IS A MUCH EASIER WAY TO DO IT! SIMPLY PURCHASE AN INEXPENSIVE FIREWIRE CABLE (ONE END 6 AND ONE END 4) AND ATTACH IT TO THE INCLUDE BASE OF YOUR EVERIO, IMOVIE IMPORTS IT AUTOMATICALY AND EVEN SPERATES DIFFERENT CLIPS!!!! iT IS VERY MUCH WORTH IT, i SUGEST BUYING THE CABLE FROM EBAY (THEY ARE VERY INEXPENSIVE) BUT ANYWHEREIS FINE!!!

rebbish Guest | I’m getting ready to buy a JVC GZHD7. I have a dual 1.25 GHz power pc G4 desktop macintosh. 2 MB L3 cache per processor. 2 GB DDR SDRAM. Is my computer able to deal with this camera? Will I be able to load and edit video? Use imovie and idvd?
Should I choose a different camera?
Thanks for any help.

ruffy Guest | Say jr1bot;
You say, “Load a file into capty..."
What’s capty?
My Everio came with NOTHING for the Mac.
It only came with Windows XP software.
And a search on my new Macbook Pro for “capty” comes up empty.

jvcuser2007 Guest | Thanks for sharing! Worked like a charm. Amazing that JVC doesn’t post this somewhere, or that Apple doesn’t include on the imovie faq. It’s not like JVC is a time company!

jvcuser2007 Guest | It does not work with my Everio. Is it possible it supports some models and not all?

Junglebook Guest | I’ve got another question. When I use dvdrop, how come I have to delete all the .MOI files? When I don’t delete them, the audio is all messed up, it sounds like it is in slow motion. How come it does this?

And rather quickly too.
I just can’t figure out how to bind multiple clips into one chapter, so that the menu system treats these as one unit.
Otherwise creating a DVD is a cinch.
