linus1 Guest | Hi. I am new to DVD authoring and have been having a play for the last 2 weeks or so. I dont want to do anything fancy, just create simple DVDs from some AVI files I have. Sorry for the long post, but i would rather explain myself and give too much information than not enough.
I read a number of guides and forum posts and have tried a number of different applications, with mixed results. the main project i am trying to carry out is to convert 4 x 30 min avi files to dvd with a simple menu.
I was initially using nerovision express. I wanted to use this because I am familar with Nero and it looked like an all in one package. however once it was all encoded and burnt to dvd, the audio soon became out of sync with the video (after about 2 mins in). i checked the video_ts that nero generated on my hard drive this did the same, indicating the problem was with the encoding rather than the burning process.
then i read a post on this site (http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/6198p1.html) which helped and gave me some new apps to play with/try out. after using virtualdub to sort the audio encoding, i tried to use TMPGenc plus, but i had problems when it came to resizing the files and it wouldnt let me set the file to a max size of 950mb (so i could do this 4 times and fit them on 1 dvd).
so next i tried DivXtoDVD. i loaded the AVI files i modified with virtualdub into it and this worked great. i have my video_ts dir created on my hard drive ready to burn to DVD. but all i am missing now is a menu. so finally i will get to my questions...
can anyone recommend a way i can simply add a menu? i dont want anything as complicated as using dvd menu studio, all i want is a picture and 4 buttons, one for each of the 4 videos.
secondly, now i have modified the AVI files using virtualdub, do you think that if i use nerovision express process again the audio and video might be in sync? i know i could just try and see but it takes 6 hours to encode on my pc!
any help would be appreciated. |
