guyverstu Guest | hey all, i have tried the lazy man page to play the ogm files, i tried the core media player but that didnt work. can anyone give me a detailed do list , cause it is really confusing for me.
i aint got a clue what to do. if any one can help me, plz, then thx

Helpless Guest | I’ve tried all the packs and codecs listed on here, Lazy Man’s guide, several (+8) players, and I still can’t get OGM’s to work right. The movies I have been trying to watch always have a sound error that is a loud screeching noise and some even have a video error where it copies over some scenes with other backgrounds. I know it isn’t the file, please help me out.

StPatty33 Guest | I’d been using BS Player for awhile with the direct show filter, but I just reinstalled windows and thought I could find a better way, so here it is (and I’m running XP Pro, so I know it works with pro).
DL the DIVX codec:

Now your OGM’s should work perfectly in Media Player 9, so you don’t have to download all kinds of other annoying players. Enjoy!

DekenFrost Guest | Same with me .. installed a lot of codecs .. till Gspot told me i had a right codec to play the video .. but i kept getting just the video withoud sound .. the last Straw was to try the Vlc .. and it really worked .. i normaly use the media player classic, and normaly it playes everything, even Dvd ´s dunno why it didnt work on this bloody file

Seth Guest | I was trying to find something to play *.ogm files with and I downloaded VLC after I was being fed up with codecs that either didn’t work or f***ed my pc up. And then this funny thing happened... IT WORKED! just like that! No 'Invalid Codec’or *Unknown file format* or anything like that. I have only just started testing it with other file formats, but so far everything is working A-ok ^_^

DaveRimbo Guest | Thanks for the good advice from Wizard - my only exception is that you do not need to install the cole2k codec pack, just the ogg vorbis filter stuff. Media Player says it doesn’t recognise the file type but it plays just fine anyway - manually associate .ogm

Alucart Guest | I have tried Video Cleaner and WinAVI Video Converter and both crash when I’m trying to convert the OGM to AVI(or anything else for that matter). Anyone got a program that WORKS that will convert?
