Fronz Guest | Seems like this thread hasn’t been touched in a longggg time, but if anyone ever needs the solution in the future then I highly suggest:
http://www.jakeludington.com/dv_hacks/20060226_how_do_i_play_ogm_video_files.html
Takes 10 seconds to download and instal, and 10 more seconds to set up. The site has al lthe instructions you will need.
Also, if any of you enjoy playing video games I highly recommend the site Destructoid.com!

My only gripe is that we need an ogm to dvd converter so we don’t have to run two conversions just to burn to a dvd.

icon0clast Guest | 1.) uninstall all codecs, filters, etc. (if need be, burn all important data and reformat your computer, just last resort...)
2.) download and install k-lite codec pack from free-codecs.com
3.) download and install vlc player (google it)
use vlc player for .ogm, .ogg, and .mkv files and media classic player (comes along with k-lite codec pack when installed) for every other video file
enjoy!!!

coral Guest | Hi,
I have a bunch of avi. files that I want to convert to dvd. format, so I got winavi. But I just learned that I needed codecs to succesfully burn them and have them play on my dvd player. I’m considering ACE Mega codecs package, but I’m unsure how to get it to work after I install it. Any Help is great thanks.

Coolgamer Guest | I have the same advice- VLC player is a dream player.
I only have three video players on my computer: Real Alternative, Quicktime Alternative, and VLC player.
Audio, I use Winamp and for ripping files I use Quintessinal player or Goldwave editor.

Wolfman07 Guest | Hey, I downloaded the VLC media player, and I must say, it works nicely, but I do have one problem I would like to ask for someones help on. When I downloaded an Anime off of Bittorrent. It came with the Ogg file, the IDX file, and a Sub file. I believe the ogg file is the video file, the idx file is the music, and the subs are the subtitles in the anime. I was wondering how I would make the subtitles show up on the video? I appriciate any help, thanks.

sared2181 Guest | thanks alot, i needed these to get it to work properly, when i played my media on Media Player Classic with the CCCP (Combined Community Codec pack), the resolution was re-scaled and it looked shitty. i fixed this (sorta) by adng a TV onto my Comp so that it played at the correct Resolution.
Try Media Player Clossic
and
CCCP
if anyone is still having troubles. i used those two plus divx and xvid codecs to play anything, and anything, be it and type of audio, video, image, graphic or combination of them, it’ll play it.
also use the VLC Player, it usually fixed image quality problems and resolution scaling ssues too. And if you want to change the format of any of th files, use VirtualDubMod.
